Im soo excited about all the responses I got about the DMV blogger meet up! Sorry it took me a long time to blog again, LET ME TELL U WHAT HAPPENED!! LOL

So there's this lady that works for Dell that comes to my house and fixes my computer. First time she came, my harddrive crashes so she replaced it. Then something happened to the battery and the mouse so she had to fix that, NOW the laptop turns on but for SOME REASON, my screen doesn't show... depressing huh? I'm starting to think she's messing up my computer on purpose cause she probably gets paid for every comp she fixes.. I dunno, all I know is, everytime she touches my computer, it messes up!

So back to the Blogger meet up, I guess if you come across my blog and you said your interested, and read this entry, email me at tj2626@gmail.com, let me know who you are, and choose between the dates:

September 20th
September 27th
October 4th

If you can do either or, please let me know. If I don't get emails by the end of this week from those that said they were interested, I'm just going to contact everyone any way that I can because I need emails/numbers/whatever and I need to make reservations to a restaurant/lounge asnaps. WOW I'm excited!! Oh and PLZ... spread the word!!

So, as I was standing in line at Ben's Chilli Bowl talking to my homeboy who's a fellow DC blogger, we were thinking...we need to get all the DC bloggers and have a "DC/Maryland/Virginia Blogger Meet-Up" good idea huh?? lol. Now, this isn't limited to just the DMV area, anyone can come (NY, Phila, North Dakota, etc). I was thinking of going somewhere off of U Street because there's a WIDE range of lounges and restaurants to choose from. The actually date hasn't been set, but if I can get enough people to hit me up and let me know if they're interested... we can set up a date and place. Now who's interested?? PLZ pass on the word about it and mention this blog post... I'm looking to have about 20+ bloggers coming out!

Single BLK woman in DC Not Looking 4 Single BLK man in DC

Am I wrong for being extra picky about who I want to date? LOL like seriously... is picky wrong?
I was at working yesterday and me and my co workers were talking about guys in DC and how they just come up to you sooo incorrectly and when you turn them down, they go all CRAZY and want to call you out of your name. What's up with that? Why do some guys act like that... please extra my fellow bloggers, whether you're from DC or somewhere else... explain to me lol
And then I was talking to one of my homeboys, he's from DC and he said... why don't women make the first move instead of letting the guy come up to her all the time? Well me being old fashion, I've never went up to a guy myself but I know guys have to work up a lot of courage to make a move... it's nerve wrecking sometimes. Hmmm... maybe that's my problem. Guys aren't into the old fashion anymore... they need someone aggressive. But then there are the guys like hate when a girl makes the first move... WTF? Make up your mind! LOL

I FINALLY Made it to U Street

After all the procrastination and me saying I was going to go, I made my way there last night. The picture above is what I took of Bohemian Caverns, but I didn't go in lol. I was suppose to go, but they didn't have the poetry night, it was the band and I had my sights on some poetry. I did go to the restaurant above it called Mahogany and its sooooo delicious (I recommend trying the Jerk Chicken Pasta). And I ALSO found out the name of the hole in the wall soulfood place. It's called OOHHs and Aahhs Soulfood and Things... it's on the same block as Bohemian Caverns. I ALSO found out where Jin was and it looks like a nice spot. I may have to go there sometime this weekend. I ended the night off with Busboys and Poets and as my first time going there, I LOVED IT! The book worm that I am, I went STRAIGHT to the books and I was overwhelmed, not even gonna lie LOL. It was getting late around the time I arrived at Busboys so I didn't get to search through the books, but I plan on going back tonight to just sit down, relax, and read and browse the net on my laptop... I can't wait :). I'll be the first to say... DC is looking pretty ALRIGHT to me lol. I love U Street and I love Adams Morgan... where else do I need to visit??

My Weekend and Because I LOVE Surveys!

My weekend was alright. Aside from working, I went to this go-go party in Oxon Hill and it was pretty fun. Of course they played a whole load of go-go music, but I still had some fun. Here's some pics (out of the thousands I took and put on facebook):
Me and my homegirl Danielle

Me, Niiki, and Penny

No clue why Brandon was looking at me like that LOL

I'm actually extremely excited about this week for work. The hOOters in Baltimore is having a "Firemen's Week" and they've asked managers from all hOOters in the DMV area to transfer like 15 girls down there, all gas and hotel expenses paid for. I'm going to be down there from Wed through Fri and I can't wait!!! I'll be making tons of money and having fun in bmore :)

Since I LOVE surveys I decided to steal this one from 1980 lol

Ten random things about me...
1. I know the whole dance to Michael Jackson' "Thriller"
2. I played softball during high school (A LOT of people don't know that about me)
3. My favorite colors are lavender and pink but I don' wear them
4. I'm afraid of pitch darkness
5. I'm obsessed with Gummy Bears and not just any old kind cause I'm picky. I like the ones in the gold packet
6. If I could make one celebrity my love slave for a day I'd choose Mario LOL
7. I'm a momma's girl
8. I want to work for Diddy one day lol until then I'll settle for having my own Public Relations firm
9. The first song I sang that made me want to be a singer (but not anymore lol) was Brandy's "I Wanna Be Down"
10. I'm trying to be the shortest runway model on Vera Wang's shows (I'm only 5ft6 and most girls are like 5ft10 and taller)

Nine ways to win my heart...
1. Cook for me. The key to MY heart is a good homecooked meal
2. Make me laugh till I cry
3. Have confidence. I don't care if you look scraggly, haven't had a haircut in 3 weeks and you have a meeting with the President... work that afro lol
4. Don't be jealous. I get hit on and looked out at work and outside of work... you can't get mad and want to fight every single guy that does that. A lot of jealousy is a sign of insecurity... a little jealousy is ok, we're all human
5. Be boring. I like guys that don't mind staying home and making it a movie night sometimes. I can't handle you if you party aaaalllll the time.
6. Have as much passion in music and fashion as I do. You don't have to know who Carolina Herrera is but some fashion sense can work
7. Be good with my mom. From the boyfriends that have met my mom, she's ALWAYS been able to scoop out the ones that were going to end out being wack. I always value her opinion when it comes to boyfriends. She's a little hard on you at first cause of course she's my mother, but she's like a 21 year old at heart lol
8. Don't be clingy. I hate clingy and it's a major turn off
9. Tell me that your favorite baseball team is the Yankees/Braves, favorite football team is the Eagles/Redskins (I'm kinda two sided even though they're rivals lol) and favorite basketball team is Heat/Wizards

Eight things I want to do before I die...
1. Travel the world
2. Open up a nonprofit home for the poor and teach them vocational skills while finding them jobs to get them off the streets
3. Meet Oprah/Jay Z & Beyonce
4. Open up my PR firm
5. Get married to a wonderful man and have beautiful children
6. Become fluent in Spanish, Italian, French, Creole, and Swahili
7. Help my mom get a Day Spa/Beauty Salon
8. Be a featured model in Essence Magazine

Seven ways to annoy me...
1. Talk to me when I'm mad... you may think talking to me while I'm mad is going to settle things, but you're not gonna get much out of me
2. Tell me how to live my life
3. Not be on time for something... I can't STAND being late
4. Tell me that my dreams are ridiculous
5. Touch a black woman's radio LOL
6. Say you're gonna do something but don't do it
7. Tickle me... I want to be hypnotized so I'm not ticklish anymore because if anything, I think I'm the most ticklish person in the world

Six things I believe in...
1. God
2. That if I work really hard, I can do anything that I dream of
3. Networking and knowing people in high places gets you extremely far
4. The golden rule "Do onto others as you would want them to do onto you"
5. Living life everyday as if it were on purpose
6. Good and faithful men ARE out there

Five things I am afraid of...
1. Loosing my family
2. Failing
3. Insects. When I went camping last year and we actually had to sleep in a sleeping bag and everything... I thought I was going to die lol
4. Having to put all my ambitions on hold
5. Pitch darkness

Four of my favorite things...
1. This pink carebear my father bought me years ago
2. My iPod collection
3. Favorite people: My friends and family

Three things I do everyday...
1. The daily hygienic chores: brush teeth, wash face, take shower
2. Pilate's
3. Get on my laptop and check email, myspace, facebook, etc

Two things I want to do right now...
1. Go to U street and get me some soul food from that one hole-in-the-wall joint
2. Stop being lazy and get my emissions test for my car

One person I want to see right now...
1. I just want a BIG family reunion and see my family from my mom and dads side, plus my grandfather that passed away 3 years ago :( RIP

An Old Poem Brought back to Life

I use to be very poetic, but somewhere between senior year in high school and then college, I lost all my spunk and my muze. I use to write the hell out of love now... I rarely blog about it. I had a Xanga at one point and I was surprised to see that it was still up. Well, there was this poem that I thought was BEAUTIFUL and as soon as I wrote it on my blog... it died down, wasn't recognized from that point on. I decided to bring it back to life:

Lost in Translation (inspiration)

Lost in translation (cycles)

I think of him.

a velvety shade of midnight accented with French truffles

an old English style, elegant like Old England ruffles

yeah, loving him is an occupation,

his shade breeds roots deeper than the emancipation

issued around the oak tree,

my country tis of thee, rings liberties from his mysterious brown eyes, his eyes, civilizes my society, my reality

breaking myths of an arctic heart, barriers rupture, love is harnessed

a relationship emerges through the translation of words.

We’re playing four letter scrabble; what I said he heard,

his eyes gave truth to his heart’s babble.

It mumbles

I check my watch. He manages to monopolize my thoughts.

at first sight of his person

first shared syllable of his banter

first touch of his hand

first taste of his lips

first rhythm in which our hearts share a similar frequency

we now, caress each other mentally frequently no words needed.

Our future:

A couple of years relationship experienced but not needed,

Black Armani tuxedo pants pleated, off-white, hand-made wedding dress forecast innocence depleted in a sense, repentance granted an immaculate purity

rings exchange now just a reflection of me,

definition of unity

the translation of understanding

Fixing my dress I wondered what we are doing…it’s so surreal right now.

Marriage rushes by. Honey moon never ceases

after four children, one possessing his name

and our beautiful faces are creasing, it’s never a bad time for our love,

Everyday is pleasing

peace is achieved as our off spring flies the coop

Our perfect communication which was overtaken by

lavish occupations is finally overcame,

remember when sex was our Tylenol

we rather indulge in Coca-Cola for the remote traces

love is etched in the wrinkles of our faces but never in the finger tips of our touch

slowly together isolated we’re dying.

We embrace each other as if I’m returning to his rib like Adam and Eve,

He becomes my breath,

we return to formal glory, death brings a vivid life, translating our lost relationship into husband and wife

of a new stature.

Our friends become envious of the perfection we’ve created and they can’t have,

grandchildren mischievous,

our love transcends reality delegating our problems to a passing storm, or gently breeze. We constantly freeze, A Kodak picture ready for an eternal life portrait.

Our Death portrays, perfection, engraved with a century of moments.

My phone rings, I hear your deep voice. “Hey.” Funny I was just thinking about you. I think I’m ready.

And this is WHY I Heart Kanye West...

He's a fool and I love it! lol

Supposedly this is an informercial for Absolute Vodka... and he's being for real. I'd have to say this is the ONLY guy (aside from Pharrell) that I'd say can walk around with a big tote bag and still look fly LOL

Go to http://www.bekanyenow.com/

Since I haven't done a MeMe in a MINUTE, I came across one on Ed the Celeb's site and I had to jack it lol

7 DEADLY Sins...

1. Who did you last get angry with? My manager Kevin
2. What is your weapon of choice? I'm a lover not a figher haha
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex? Yea, not seriously though, although I have before
4. How about of the same sex? umm... why not?? lol nah, but that was back then, I'm too grown for all that seriously
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you? hmmm... Emmanuel
6. What is your pet peeve? bad hygiene... YUCK
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily? I've said this before but after a long argument, I'd probably say something funny and then the mood would be lightened... I've held only one grudge my whole life and it's reasonable believe me

1. What is one thing you’re supposed to do daily that you haven’t done in a long time? Eat healthy... its hard being a waitress
2. What is the latest you’ve ever woken up? probably 2pm... LONG night
3. Who have you been meaning to contact, but haven’t? My father
4. What is the last lame excuse you made? I ate something really bad and couldn't work but in reality, I got "drunk" for the first and LAST time and had a bad hang over for 2 days straight (trust me... I can't drink anymore after that)

1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice? Hmmm juice, I don't buy expensive juice unless it's lke Figi water.
2. Meat eaters are…: ANIMAL KILLERS!! lol sike nah... I'm a meat eater so who cares?? I dont eat pork though, and rarely beef
3. What is the greatest amount of alcohol you’ve had in one sitting/outing/event? When I got drunk for the first time, I had only 6 drinks (2 shots of Patron, 1 shot of Vodka, 1 Washinton Apple, One Melon Wall, One shot of something the bartender made)... what messed me up was the fact that I had a Washington Apple and if you're a bartender, you know that it has Crown Royal in it... DARK LIQUOR so yea, that's not the most. I had 8 drinks and I was fine (2 melon ball, 2 amaretto sours, 1 sex on the beach, 1 blow job, 1 buttered nipple, and a Hypnotiq cranberry). I'm not an alcoholic, only drink every once in a while but yea... lol
4. Have you ever used a professional diet company? NOO

2. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice? I like abs. A lot of guys take time on their arms, chest, and legs, but the abs seem to be the least important

6. Have you ever stolen anything? We're all sinners
7. How many mp3s are on your hard drive? OMG has to be thousands

1. What is one thing you have done that you’re most proud of? Graduated from high school and became the first person in my family to go to college... and I'm almost done. What Cha Know Bout Me?

MANNNN ya'll had some good questions so here we go:

One Soulful Negro:

If you had to be someone else, someone close to you or a day, who would it be and why?

I would be my mother. Like I've said, she's been through A LOT and I've heard stories, but I want to know how she experienced it through her eyes. She say her life is harder right now than it is for me... I totally disagree

what do you believe is your best quality?

Hmm.. that's a good one... physically or mentally? Physically I'd say my mind. Of course there are other physical things about me that are really great but HONESTLY, many people are so selfish with this question that they don't even acknowledge their mind, their wisdom and ability to learn. Mentally I have a great sense of humor. It allows me to not be able to keep a grudge over someone for more than 2 hrs and to also be able to adapt to different personalities, no matter how difficult they are to get along with.

what is your idea of a perfect date?

I'm pretty simple, old fashion, and romantic. The perfect date would have to be driving to a place with an amazing view at night(which is HARD to find in DC/Maryland/Virginia), and having a nice little picnic just me and him. That's the perfect place because it allows us to be intimate and talk to each other without the clutter of life's stresses. The view clears your mind and gives you the opportunity to tell your life story. It's perfect... and I've never experienced that EVER :( LOL

What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex?

HAHA this is a good question. I HAVE no secret weapon. Really... I'm just my one-in-a-million self and apparently that's enough because it's like every guy that I've met has INSTANTLY fell in lust with me. I can't even explain it and it erks my nerves sometimes, but I'm just me. I'm not a good flirter hahaha I laugh and smile allllllll the time, I guess that's me flirting.

One celebrity you would do ANYTHING for?

WILL FREAKIN SMITH!!!!!! I love love LOVE me some Mr. Smith lol

Name the one cd you will never get tired of?

ooooo that's a good one! It's a tie between Bobby Valentino's- (Self Titled) and Erykah Badu's Mama's Gun. Those are the only songs were I can listen to them without skipping over a song.

If there is one quality you look for in a person your interested in what would that quality be? and why?

If I said looks weren't everything, I'd be lying, but that's not the ONE quality I look for. Though I'd have to be physically attracted to him, the ultimate neccessity is humor. I'm a person that starts busting out laughing when I just got through arguing with someone over something extremely serious... if I can't laugh everyday, I'd go OUT OF MY MIND. I need a guy that can keep up with me and no be serious all the time. There's a time a place to be serious, of course, but I'm a ha ha funny girl lol. I need a ha ha funny guy

Eb the Celeb

name one relationship you wish you could go back and do over
OOOOO that touches the heart lol. I wouldn't go back to ANY of my past relationships. They were in the past and I want to keep it that way because most of them were pure hell for me, though there is ONE that I'd go back to and never happen again. I won't say names because he's on my facebook and might come to my blog from time to time, but he knows who he is. I was with this guy for like 8 months on and off my sophomore/junior year in high school. I thought I was in love, felt it was love, but it wasn't. He was a compulsive cheater/liar that just didn't know how to tell the truth sometimes. I'd ask him what color the sky was and it would be blue but he's convience me otherwise that it was right red. I wasted my time with him because he was emotionally abusive. Never laid a hand on me, but being with him brought my self esteem WAY down. I felt that he was the only one for me for the longest, then found out that he was dated one of my good friends while we were going to different schools. I was crushed. There are other factors, BIG factors that changed my life forever that he did to me... but I will NOT go that route. Maybe in another blog, but this isn't the time. It's hard for me to talk about even 5 years later.

whats the one place you want to go before you die

That's a hard one. I just want to be able to travel alll continents before I die. That's all I ask for, especially Europe.

what about life puzzles you

RELIGION. I have sooo many questions about religion and he fact that there are enormous amounts of different religions... it confuses me. And religion factors off other questions like... how did we get on this earth, why are we here, where do we go when we die???

5 qualities your dream guy has to have
Sense of humor
Physical attraction
LOVE of music
Knowldgeable and Wise...I HAVE to have an intelligent conversation with him
Has a BIG heart... When he meets my family, they can see right through him, he's gotta have a BIG heart because that's number one for them

blog crush?

hahaha I'm gonna be a sore loser and not tell.. it's a crush!! lol I will say that he is apart of my blogring and he lives in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area (that's all I'm gonna say and it' hard to figure it out because many of the guys in my blogring are from the area)

why did you start blogging?

I have NO CLUE why I started blogging LOL. I guess because I love writing and I have a lot to say. What better way to say it in front of the public? lol but seriously, the whole purpose of this blog is for my pleasure. It's a good way for people to get to know you and a good way to know other people.

I was reading this little book that I called titled If2... lol don't ask why I have the book. I have a TON of books. Many of them, for no reason they just seemed like a good buy at the time. But anyway, I think I'm going to take an "If" question once a week and answer it on the blog. Here it goes:

"If you had to name the one area of your life that you are the least self-disciplined in, what would it be?"

I would have to say school. Honestly, I don't need to be in school to do what I'm majoring in. Many people in the public relations field, especially for celebrities do not have a degree, but they know people. I know people, but I'm just doing school just to have some education on by back bone. I really don't like college. It's bites and it's annoying. I'm a BIG procrastinator when it comes to homework and studying. One thing that I hate is studying so OF COURSE I'm going to procrastinate lol

So... I'm going to leave this open and get some of my readers to ask me a question cause a lot of ya'll know nothing about me. I'll keep this post open for a while so you can ask me as many questions as you want... no limitations and I PROMISE you that I'll answer, NO MATTER what it is. :)

This should be quite interesting!! If you have a question you wanna keep anonymous, just email me at tj2626@gmail.com and i'll put my answer with you as being anonymous.

This Prison

I feel like a prisoner to life...

Everything I want, I can't get
Everything I need, I have no way of getting it
Every happiness I seek is hard to find
Everytime I feel alone, there's hardly no one around

But it's like, when you don't need something... it's flowing your way
When you need to be alone, someone is always around

I don't understand. I'm quite confused.

I'm so grateful: grateful for life, grateful for shelter, grateful for health, grateful for family and friends, grateful for food and water,

But somehow... everytime I ask for something, I seem... UNGRATEFUL...

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers, but most importantly to all the mothers that raised their children on their own... they deserve a "Happy Fathers Day" as well.

Tat Tat Tatted Up!!

I got into this little discussion with my co-worker a while back and it dawned on me again early yesterday. Me being that I have like 3 tattoos going on 4, I kind of get looked down upon by older people, but honestly, I don't care. My first tattoo holds a lot of controversy though.

So we was talking about tattoos on your lower back. At this point, he didn't know I had one on my lower back so basically, he said if you have one there, you have a tramp stamp, so youre a tramp. CLEARLY, I disagreed fully. I'm not a tramp, far from it, and I got the tattoo as "fashion" and it had nothing to do with anything sexual. Plus, it's not like it has no meaning. I straight up told him that and he tried to change his opinion talking about... "well, not all girls with them are tramps". I was like, whatever! And walked away.

I don't understand why people think that. I know plenty of people that have lower back tattoos and aren't tramps... well that I know of lol. It annoys the heck outta me, but I guess all are entitled to their own opinion... UgH.

How do you guys feels about tattoos??

MeMe Friday!!

The difficult I’ll do right now,

the impossible will take a little while

I took this MeMe last year and I thought I'd do it again, see if some of my answers changed:

This one is called top 5:

1. What are five TV shows that you love to watch?
House, America's Next Top Model, (guilty pleasure) Drake and Josh, Anything on HGTV, and Anything on the Travel Channel

2. What are the last five books you have read?
Harlem on Lock by (forgot the author)
Love is Never Painless by Zane
Office Girls (forgot the author)
A Gangster's Girl Saga- Chunichi
Hood- Nore
(I need some better fiction novels... any suggestions?)

3. Name five friends from your childhood.
Tara, Brittney, Caley, Kimberly, and Amber

4. What are your favorite five bath & beauty products?
Organic Shea Butter from the local flea market, my loofah sponge, my vegetarian facial wash from
Lush (herbalism), Lotta Colatta lip gloss from Victoria's Secret, and my signature fragrance Escada Island Kiss.

5. Name five things about you or that you have done in your life that might surprise other people.
a) I grew up poor
b) People don't know that I'm in Hip-Hop like hardcore... I love everything about Hip Hop, the culture, the music, the graffiti (and when I say Hip-Hop I don't mean this commercial stuff they got out... that's not Hip-Hop!). I know all the lyrics to Biggie's and Tupac's hottest songs... it's crazy. Guys in the clubs look at me like... Whaaaa?? when they see me rapping "One More Chance" LOL
c) I can sing, like BLOW... but that was middle school/high school, I don't sing anymore, I gave that up. When I was in 7th grade, I sang for
Jazze Pha and he LOVED me, but I was EXTREMELY shy back then so my singing career wasn't gonna happen. It's funny cause my mom saw him like 2 weeks ago and he asked about me... I left a good impression ain't that something??
d) I'm a Hooter's girl at the Hooters in Chinatown, D.C. I was one my freshman year, and then I came back for the summertime. It erks my nerves how some people think we're strippers and we have no morals in life. It's a job like any other job and quite frankly, it's the best job I've ever had cause the managers aren't uptight and we can dance, sing, whatever... our job is to have fun and make people's visits fun as well. But we don't take our clothes off and we definitely don't make stripper money like people think we do... YEA RIGHT! LOL
e) I want to be an interior designer. My mom thinks I'm kidding but I'm soo serious! Yea, I major in Public Relations, but I minor in Studio Art... what, they think I'm minoring in Art for my health?? LOL no... to understand art, color, form, volume, etc...
f) ***BONUS**** IM A GEEK!! lol I was a geek in high school, I'm a geek now, but people don't believe me. Come on, I read a new book every 3 days, and it's never the same topics, I can read African-American fiction, Non Fiction, comic books, cook books, traveling books, reference books, AP style dictionaries, etc... I love to read.

Washington, District of Columbia>>>My Thoughts

DCer:Hey, how are you doing?
Tiara(me): I'm fine, how are you?
DCer: I'm great. Where are you from?
Me: Born in St.Louis, Raised in Atlanta, up here for school
DCer: What school do you go to?
Me: American University
DCer: WOW! You're smart! How do you like DC?
DCer: You hate it? WHY?????

LOL... that a typical conversation that I have with people from DC. People want to know why I don't like D.C. that much. I just tell them, there's nothing to do around here! But it's deeper than that... It's not that I hate D.C., it's just... well... ok, here's my list lol, there's things that I don't like about D.C. and things that I just LOVE... my DCers, and ppl that have visited D.C... you be the judge:

1) Why the he** is the cost of living so high? Honestly... there's no reason for it! In Atlanta, I can rent a NICE apartment for about $500-600 a month, in D.C., ain't gonna happen. I can buy a AMAZING house for $150,000... in D.C... OOHHH NOOOO

2)It's too freakin cold (it's funny cause I want to move to New York when I graduate haha). But then in the summer time... ITS TOOO HOT!!!

3) People are MEAN! The first time I rode the metro, I got yelled at cause I was standing on the wrong side of the escaladers lol

4) Seriously... there's nothing much to do except go clubbing every day of the week. Seeing as I don't club like that, I need diversity. In Atlanta, there's a TON of events going on, especially during the summer. Live Jazz bands in the park for free with flea markets on the side. I can watch somebody play the saxaphone and buy some organic Shea Butter at the same time! lol

5) Ok, gas prices are high everywhere but come on... $4.50 from some Premium gas??? I don't understand.

6) What happened to the term "Chocolate City"??

7) Go-Go... everytime they play it on both major radio stations, I want to scream!! Sexy Lady, My Phatty, I'm Classy Not Trashy, Welcome to D.C. and all that is cool, but, I can only like so much.

8) The traffic and the streets. Why is there a New York Ave NW and a New York Ave NE????????? I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lost in D.C. lol and I have GPS on my phone!! And it takes me 15 minutes to get to work with no traffic... with traffic 30 minutes and it's never an accident, it's just too many dag on people in the streets

1) U Street- It's beautiful. So much art, so much history in one block. Bohemian Caverns, etc... I love it... except for the parking, but that can be overlooked.

2) The museums. I've only been to a hand full of museums but my goal is to go to *almost all of them (going to ALLL of them is impossible, but somebody has the Guiness World Record)

3) Georgetown (the city)- I love shopping, nuff said

4) It's really easy to find a job up here. In Atlanta... it's extremely difficult

It's sad, but that's about all that I can say about D.C. :(

Ok... Time to Lighten Up the Mood

So... my last entry was depressing LOL. I had a lot on my mind and it seems like blogging is a great way to release it :). Now it's time to write about something happier haha.

Well, I've lately been on the Neo-Soul tip. I love everything about Neo-Soul, D.C. (besides freakin go-go), is filled with Neo-Soul and people that love the music as well. There's this place off the U Street called Bohemian Cavern. I love it. Every Wednesday they have open mic poetry and singing. I went there when there was a artist doing a mini concert and it was pretty hot. I felt like I was in Love Jones (My favorite movie by the way). I kind of went on a break from Hip-Hop and all I listen to on my car on the way to work is my Neo-Soul CD mix, Raheem DeVaughn, etc. I love it. I decided to dedicate this post to some of my favorite Neo-Soul songs:

Dwele-Old Lovas - Dwele

The Fact Is (I Need You) - Jill Scott

For Real - Amel Larrieux

On and On (A Capella) - Erykah Badu

Didnt Cha Know - Erykah Badu

Believe - Raheem DeVaughn

Marathon (All Night Long) - Raheem DeVaughn

Love Calls - Kem

Butterflykisses - Goapele

Musiq Soulchild - Previouscats - Musiq Soulchild

Tell Him - Lauryn Hill

Its Getting Late - Floetry

Good Man - India Arie

Far Away - Kindred the Family Soul

Fortunate - Maxwell

And there's sooooo many more...

Today is Neo-Soul day... it's an official holiday LOL

2 Jobs= Exhaustion!

Ok so I haven't really been blogging like that because I just got 2 jobs and they're both full time. Honestly, I feel exhausted to the MAX. I get no sleep, probably 3 hours max a day, but the only thing I can say is that the pay is really really great and up my alley. I don't see how people can do it... I don't think I'd ever want to get use to not getting AT LEAST 6 hrs of sleep cause I don't know about other folks, but I get really cranky when my slumber is interrupted so I decided I needed a solution... I need to choose a job! Funny thing is, my decision was already made because as of yesterday, I'm getting laid off and funny thing also is... I really don't care haha.

I've devoted 1 1/2 years to my government job and within those years, I've never gotten any work to do. Every time I've tried to get another job, my bum supervisors would tell people that I don't do work and I'm always on the computer but IN REALITY... I get my work done on time and what do they expect me to do... look at the computer screen for 8 hours? He** no... not gonna happen. Funny thing ALSO is, although they've given me a bad rap, they've kept me here this long... HMMMM... sounds really weird, but I already know why they kept me so long: because they know I know people and I can easily sue them for all they're worth.

Now, my office isn't no regular office. There's some serious Jerry Springer issues up in here LOL. There's two parts: the area where they deal with mail and supplies, and the area that deals with administrative work around the whole building like maintenance, phones, technology, etc. I work in the administrative area, and that's known as the "stuck up area". People in my area don't talk to the mail and supplies area, and that pisses them off. Me of course, I don't care. I'm cool with the back area, but the area that I'm in is where my issue lies. In my area is where my two supervisors are at. One is Middle Eastern, the other is black. The Middle Eastern guy treats EVERYONE bad and discriminates on everyone except for this Asian chick that gives me my work to do. Note that he use to call her Little Titty that in his language supposedly meants "little girl" (cause she's really small), but we ALL knew the deal. I heard that the black supervisor was extremely nice and friendly, and ever since the Middle Eastern guy came, he's done a 180 on everyone... he's absolutely SCARED of the guy, and I really don't know WHY cause he's not all that big and bad.

But anyway, my issue is that me and the Asian girl had clashed many times and I'm just fed up. She talks to me like I'm a little child whenever no one's around and when I complain, my supervisors always tell me that she doesn't talk like that, maybe I'm making it up... hmmm... something's going on with her and the supervisor. That's another story, but lets say she gets all types of promotions that nobody else gets, she gets paid more than most of the people, and she doesn't have the level of education that she was suppose to have to keep her job (10 years ago), and she can't speak English or do simple math and she's in charge of the budget... LOL... you figure it out.

Anyway, I'm not with ranting and raving about this job anymore. I'm absolutely over this and I'll be glad when someone comes in and knows the President or something and runs my supervisor out of the office cause something's gotta give. Until then... IM OUT THIS PIECE LIKE CHICKEN GREASE!! hahaha

You Don't Know Me

Before you take one look at me and judge me by what you see honey... open your eyes. Just because I'm quiet at first, doesn't mean I'm stuck up. Just because I have a "pretty face" doesn't mean that I'm a snob.

Personality goes much deeper.

I was quiet because as a child, I never stayed in one place. I struggled all my life, never had a stable environment, never stayed in a school for more than a year, so I went against making close friends. I figured... I'm moving next year anyway, I guess it'll be a new me.

Every time I moved, I dared myself to "reinvent", but ended up being the same girl that was quiet and people thought of as shy... most saying I was stuck up. In reality, I wasn't stuck up, I wanted friends, I wanted to be in that "popular clique", but because of my "shyness" and inability to trust people and let them get close to me... I was considered that "lame girl with a pretty face that never wore trendy clothes".

Like I said... I was struggling, lived in 3 shelters for a while, the worse having to share a bunk bed with total strangers, a big room consisting of almost 50 beds. Most of my clothes came from Value Village and other local thrift stores.

My mother never gave up, she was a single mother, a super woman and my respect for her goes beyond words. I know people who's parents gave up, became accustomed to that street drug, didn't give a da** about their kids, but not my mother. She never touched that stuff, worked several jobs at a time, just to make sure her babies had food in their mouths and some warm clothes to wear in the winter. Because of her, I never gave up, I never stopped dreaming, I never stopped believing in myself. Since college, I no longer move around, I'm no longer shy, I no longer have deep trusting issues, I no longer love the idea of constant change and the "attempt" to reinvent myself (though it's never worked, I was still the same o same LOL)... I've grown to be a better woman. A strong woman.

I can't believe I'm saying all this in a public blog, but it's gotta be told. I can't stand when people judge you when they know nothing about you... it's not far. Take the time to get to know a person, find out their "life story". You'll be surprised as to why people are the way that they are.

What Would I Do With 1 Million Dollars? MeMeFriday

Ok, so yesterday I asked readers what they would do if a million dollars just showed up in your wallet/purse? I got some funny responses. What I would do kind of connects with a lot of the responses. I would:

1) Pay off all my loans. Going to a private university is worth it, but at the same time, EXPENSIVE!!!!
2) Invest, save, all that. I want to increase it and I want to save some for a rainy day.
3) Buy my mom an empty building in a good area in Atlanta so she can start on her Day Spa/Hair Salon she's been dreaming about and get a building for my business as well.
4) Buy myself a cute little car. I was thinking an AMG SL-55 Benz, but, since I'm trying to save the money and that's a $125,000 car, I'll opt to get a cute little Scion tc.
5) Go on a $10,000 shopping spree
6) Buy a nice little house in Atlanta if I have enough money left

Now alot of people would look at me like I'm crazy cause it's a million dollars... you gotta splurge, but I couldn't lol I don't think I would even be able to live off of a million dollars for the rest of my life. Now a days with the economy, I think the smart thing to do is just save most of it and try to increase it with investments cause you NEVER know when times will get hard.

1. If you're only as old as you feel, how old are you?
I would have to say 18, I feel young

2. What habits, traits, or behaviors to you engage in that might be considered too young for you? Which might be considered a trait of someone older than you?
Younger- I play around a lot. I'm not immature, but I play jokes
Older- I can be a homebody if I wanted to. A lot my friends would say I'm an old lady cause I don't go out during the week, but um... I got a J.O.B. that I have to wake up at 5am to get to... I'll chance it every once in a while though.

ALSO, even though I play around a lot, many people say that I act WAY mature then people my age. If you'd call my office and I picked up the phone, you'd swear I was like 30 lol

3. Do you ever wish you were a different age than you are now? Why?
NO!! I like being 21 because I can get to almost all the clubs in D.C., I can rent a car without my mom's help, I feel like I get more respect now (even though it sucks that you can't get respect when your 20)... I dunno, 21 is the way to be, all I wonder now is how the 30 and up clubs are, but I'm DEFINITELY not in a rush LOL

4. Do you deliberately behave or dress a certain way to appear or feel younger than you are? How about older?
No... it doesn't matter what I wear, people are still going to question my age. I get 17, 18, 19, never 20 or 21. Sometimes 20, but NEVER 21. It's weird, but I guess it's a good thing because my mom doesn't look a day over 25 and my grandma doesn't look a day over 40... it's like it runs in the family and I'm not complaining lol

5. What is your *real* age?
21!!!! yippie! lol

If this ain't the craziest question!

I decided I wanted to redirect my blog over to my readers and asks this extremely simple question:

What would you do if a million dollars just appeared in your wallet/purse?

*I'll post my answer tomorrow along with MeMe Friday :)

Getting Healthier

So... I'm sitting at my desk trying to figure out what the hell to blog about. I could write about relationships... nah, that's too easy. Current Events... nah, I don't feel like debating right now. Celebrities... nah, I got TOO much to say.

Then I redirect my attention to the new Gatorade G2 (Grape flavor which is surprisingly good!) and I've realized, I'VE COME A LONG WAY WITH GETTING HEALTHIER.

See my diet consisted of nothing but soda, junk food, steak, greasy chicken, which in my opinion, wasn't bad when I was eating it, but my body was like... "Can I get some veggies? Some healthy food at least?" And I responded.

I went to Cali for a weekend in April, and my grandfather's wife is like a health food junky. She eats health food like it's the best thing in the world (I HATE healthy food) and she has nothing but fitness and health books/magazines laying around her house. I came across this book called 21 Pounds in 21 Days. I asked her about it and she said it's a detox program, basically you're fasting with juices and soup. Now me, I don't need to loose any weight, I mean, 10 pounds is ok, but at the end of the day, if I loose 21 pounds, people will think I'm sick, so I decided to squash the fasting because 1) I was thinking of doing it while school was still in, and midterms, plus not eating solids dont mix well, and 2)Getting rid of solids is HARD! I love to eat, and since my metabolism hasn't caught up to me yet, I'm gonna keep loving to eat haha

So I'm battling myself right now. I need to get healthier BAD. I started working out, and I've already seen an improvement on myself mentally, and physically, of course. I'm excited! But, getting use to eating healthy foods is a challenge :(
