Ok... Time to Lighten Up the Mood

So... my last entry was depressing LOL. I had a lot on my mind and it seems like blogging is a great way to release it :). Now it's time to write about something happier haha.

Well, I've lately been on the Neo-Soul tip. I love everything about Neo-Soul, D.C. (besides freakin go-go), is filled with Neo-Soul and people that love the music as well. There's this place off the U Street called Bohemian Cavern. I love it. Every Wednesday they have open mic poetry and singing. I went there when there was a artist doing a mini concert and it was pretty hot. I felt like I was in Love Jones (My favorite movie by the way). I kind of went on a break from Hip-Hop and all I listen to on my car on the way to work is my Neo-Soul CD mix, Raheem DeVaughn, etc. I love it. I decided to dedicate this post to some of my favorite Neo-Soul songs:

Chris Stokes and B2K... UGH

So, I was listening to the radio in Atlanta and they said something about Raz-B and his older brother Ricky Romance getting sexually assaulted by his former Producer/Manager/CEO of TUG Entertainment, Chris Stokes. I was SOO upset because as a teenager, I had the biggest crush on Raz-B (LOL). So, I went to the youtube link they said to go to and looked at the two videos that were posted:







The kicker in the last video was when Chris was like "I don't do that no more", proving that he INDEED did do it in the past :(


I was NOTHING less than disgusted!! I knew Chris Stokes was the reason behind B2K breaking up, partly because THEY NEVER MADE MONEY and he was spending it all on himself, but I had no idea he was trying to turn them out!!
Then the kicker is... Marques Houston was about homosexual activities as well!!


I feel so sad for these boys, but I'm so happy that Raz-B was the one to step up and say something about this. He is really strong for this, especially when people have been accusing him of being homosexual since earlier this year (check the bottom of the page of that link). I give kudos to him and everyone who stepped up as well. I know for a fact that 2008 will be the downfall for Chris Stokes. I predict that EVERYBODY is going to lay his stuff out in the open. THIS IS CRAZY!!

Mario... WOW

I feel in love with him when he first came out with that "Just A Friend 2000" song. Since then, I've supported his music through thick and then. Last week, I saw this documentary on MTV that was DEEP... so deep that I felt for him and almost shed some tears. Mario is a STRONG man... so strong that I had to do a standing ovation after looking at this piece. You would never know by looking at him that he had some BIG issues going on in his family. His mother was a serious heroin addict and he begged and pleaded for YEARS to get her to stop. Hopefully what he did at the end (Im not going to tell... you have to watch it), she'll be finally cured from her addiction. I shall keep him and his family in my prayers... even if I dont know the guy, it doesn't matter :). Everyone deserves a prayer.


I just thought I'd like to share. Despite all the rumors about his "sex tape on his cell phone", I still got love for Mr. Mario... he's an amazing person with and amazing voice.

Howard Homecoming 2007

So... unless you know nothing about major HBCU homecomings, you should know that Howard's Homecoming has been going on all week. It's been a series of events from step shows, fashion shows, comedy shows, parades, the infamous Yardfest... it's crazy!

Personally... I didn't go to any of the events, although I had big plans to go to the fashion show, but sadly :( I had to change the dates for my dance team tryouts and yea... I couldnt do it. Maybe next year... But tomorrow is the YardFest and it's this little free concert held outside that has rappers and singers come in and... rap and sing lol. Last year I went and it was pretty wack. The people they said was gonna show up, didnt show up. They said Diddy, Nas, and Kelis, among others was gonna be there, but instead it was Monica, Nina Sky, www.brookevalentine.com and they guy that does the "Here's my, Ghetto Story"... u know the one with Alicia Keys, and some other people... OOHHHHHH my 5th husband www.treysongz.com performed, although I wasnt impressed by the fact that his braids wasnt fresh and... his wardrobe wasnt either. Oh well :) This year, I have NO CLUE who's performing. I'm mad they're keeping it a secret from the whole world cause the students at Howard have no clue either. I dont know about this...


Well... the weather man said that there's a big chance that it's gonna rain, which is not good AT ALL. Maybe if it was inside, it would be better, but, it's a yardfest so they HAVE to have it in the yard (LOSERS). So, if that doesn't happen. Lil Wayne (WEEZZZZYYYY!!) is supposed to be at H20. Im excited... VERY. He's by far the best rapper at the moment. The only problem Im having is the fact that 1: it's going to be PACKED! Because it's Lil Wayne. 2: I'm going to be at least 8 deep with people... it's not guaranteed that I can get all those people on the guest list (ugh), so some people may not be getting in free and 3: ITS GOING TO BE PACKED!! LOL ooh and it's going to rain :(. I hope everything works out. If not, there's always Fur on Saturday with the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi.

I'm starting to realize that it's sooo soo sooo hard finding TRUE and UNIQUE talent for the music business, I mean HARD. Gosh... I don't know what to do! I'm trying to do this entertainment public relations thing, but it seems like I'm pushing my luck with some people that I'm messing with. I mean, some people I'm dealing with are, IIGHT but I just can't seem to find a prototype uughh it's annoying. I feel like I should just do the modeling industry or something... it's easy! All you gotta do is find a pretty/handsome face with a nice body plus a good height and BAM... you got a model haha. But my passion is singing and I dont want to take the easy way out... I LOVE a challenge.

So I'm faced with a couple of issues. Sometimes I feel like I'm being lazy with the PR stuff. I have connections, it's not like I'm in a hole cause it is who u know and not what u know when it comes to this industry (or having a career in ANYTHING period, point, blank). At the same time, it has nothing to do with laziness, it's just I dont want to go to my connects with some crap and they look at me like I'm crazy and tell me "You lost a connection with this s***, don't ever embarrass me nor yourself with this ever again" hahahaha

So I gotta come correct with these people and I dont think anyone is worthy of my connects yet... IM not even worthy haha (although I hate to admit!). I mean, I can sing or whatever, but I'm sooo shy and nervous when it comes to singing that it's just like... what is the point in trying to have a singing career? I have all the confidence in the world, but singing in front of people that I hardly know is nerve recking (unless Im on a stage... then I can sing my butt off lol).

I got a rapper and a singer that I'm really really trying to get on the scene cause they are... how do u say... PERFECT... (haha) and hook them up... so we'll see what happens!

OMG, when will this madness end??? I HOPE NOT SOON CAUSE IM LOVIN IT!! The one thing I'm not getting and its erkin my nerves to the N is those dang headscarves over the neck... never and I mean NEVER will I be caught with it on. I mean, dont get me wrong, its not for me, but it may look good on others... Also...
The whole punk rock thing is coming to play as well. I think guys in Ed Hardy, fitted (but loose) jeans (Think Usher U Got it Bad), skull wallet chains, mixed with the jumbo gold chains is sexy dude... just SEXY lol.

A Tribute to my HOMETOWN ATTLL>>>SHAWTY YEA!!

Soo... I can't wait till finals are OVER!! I have 3 more days then I'm done... I may not update after this one for about 3 weeks so BEAR with me ya'll! I'm gonna be traveling like crazy!! I CANT WAITT!!! 1st, i'm heading down to Atlanta to see my mom and sister, then I'm going to Miami to see my best friend and record a song (hopefully) for this new up and coming group DLeague (click the link and go to their myspace page... they're hot!!), then i'm coming back to Atlanta and my mom wants to go to Jamacia for Memorial Day weekend, THEN I'm going to St.Louis to visit my family and friends, and back to D.C. to work FULL TIMEE!! But we've shined, and it is time to put it to rest and do something new you know?? But I want to just show this video by these guys called The Floor Masters. They are choreographers for the famous SO SO Def Records and believe it or not... they've created almost ALLL the dances you've seen on the TV and THENNN SOME!! They got this new dance called "The Temptations" for Johnta Austin's new song "Video" (THATS MY SONGGGGG!!
